Panerai has launched two models in its Historic collection.
The Radiomir 1940 3 Days 47 mm,with a hand-wound P.3000 in-house caliber.
The PAM 514 is in steel, and the PAM 515 is in red gold.
And the Radiomir 1940 42 mm,with a hand-wound P.999 in-house caliber.
The PAM 512 is in steel with a black alligator strap, and the PAM 513 is in red gold with a brown alligator strap.
With distinct aesthetic and mechanical characteristics,we’ll leave the analysis of the 47 mm model for a later article, focusing on the model that left me with the best impression, the PAM 512.

Watch Replicas Uk Radiomir 1940 42 mm
The first thought that comes to mind is clarity,a description that fits perfectly with this extremely pure dial design;
Only the dispensable small seconds at 9 o’clock breaks its harmony.
Large Arabic numerals indicate 12,3,and 6 o’clock, while between them, every five minutes,we find baton-type indices of equal length to the numbers.
The sword-type hands include Super-LumiNova applications,as does the small seconds hand.
The”RADIOMIR PANERAI”legend below the 12 o’clock position completes the dial design.
The black(steel)or brown(gold)dial features a sandwich structure, with Super-LumiNova applied between the two discs.
This luminescent substance is beige,a tone that gives it a striking vintage look.

Case Watch Replicas Uk
The cushion-shaped case follows the lines established by the Radiomir 1936.
One of the main advantages of this Watch Replicas Uk is its ease of use, thanks to its compact 42 mm diameter and, above all,its reduced thickness compared to the measurements Panerai has accustomed us to.
The water resistance achieved reaches 10 bar(100 meters).
The lugs are robust, similar to those used on the Luminor and 1950 cases.
The rectangular crown features the initials OP on its surface.
The material used in the manufacture of the case differs significantly,in addition to the metal, between the steel PAM 512 and the rose gold 513.
While the hands are white gold in the steel version, the rose gold version is made of the same metal as the case.
However, the main variation is found in the caliber,as we will see in the following section.

The P.999 caliber
This hand-wound in-house movement, measuring 3.40 mm thick,is the thinnest caliber produced by the Neuchâtel-based company.
It has a diameter of 12 lignes,19 jewels,and 154 components.
And boasts a substantial power reserve of 60 hours, achieved thanks to the energy stored in a single barrel.
The balance wheel oscillates at 21,600 vibrations per hour(3 Hz).
Four bridges occupy the vast majority of the space, almost completely concealing the mainplate.
Its finishes follow the brand’s industrially austere trend in its in-house calibers.
I’m not a big fan of Panerai’s caliber design, but I must admit that I don’t dislike the P.999 at all.
Although it falls short of the beautiful architecture and finishes of the Minerva-based OPXXVII implemented in the PAM 399 special edition.
The PAM 513 is powered by the P.999 caliber described so far, while the steel PAM 512 uses a version of that movement, the P.999/1 caliber.

What’s the difference between the two?
Well,in the former,a swan-neck regulator adjusts the active length of the balance spring, while in the P.999/1,it’s adjusted using a lever device.
The absence of the swan-neck regulator means the final thickness of the watch is reduced to 3.00 mm,and the number of components drops to 144.
Another difference is that it lacks the beveled and polished edges of the bridges,a decoration that is present on the P.999.
Honestly,I don’t understand why they use two such similar versions, eliminating the aesthetic swan neck and beveled bridges in one of them.
Did implementing the unmodified P.999 in the steel case increase the cost that much?
Or is it just a way to add value to the gold version? What a shame!
