Two iconic models. The Daytona and the Submariner are two Rolex sports watches with very different styles.

The model has experienced redesigns during its 58-year history.
Today,a Daytona is a very“hot”model, but it wasn’t always like that.
In the late 1980s and 1990s,collectors favored the two-tone Oyster models.
In 2016,the Daytona was updated to feature a scratch-resistant black ceramic bezel, which skyrocketed demand.
The Rolex Submariner:A diving masterpiece
Originally released in 1954,nine years before the Daytona, the Submariner is still a very hot sports model.
Rolex created the Submariner for diving enthusiasts, designed to keep them safe while underwater.
This watch propelled Rolex to the top of the“tool watches”category.
The famous movie agent James Bond catapulted the watch’s popularity.

While similar in size
The Daytona is slightly smaller than the Submariner.

Materials&Colors

Complications&Water Resistance
One of the most obvious differences between the two watches is their complications.

The Daytona lacks a date function and features a chronograph.
Both watches are from Rolex’s Professional collection.
The Submariner was designed for diving, which gives it a water resistance of up to 300 meters.
The Daytona was designed for land sports and is water resistant to 100 meters.
Which is better?
The Daytona and the Submariner have their pros and cons.
While both models can be worn for more formal occasions, the Daytona has smoother lines that make it slightly more formal than the Submariner.
On the other hand,if you plan on swimming with the watch or even diving, the Submariner will offer greater durability and peace of mind in the water.
