　　Thin model arriving on the market,but for the mastery with which the Cartier design team transformed the standard Drive.

　　The automatic three-hand model with date had a case thickness of 11.25 millimeters.

　　In the case of the Extraflat,the case height is reduced to a mere 6.6 millimeters.

　　The reduction in volume has obviously been achieved with a new movement,although what’s more noteworthy is how the watch has transformed itself to adapt to the new dimensions.

　　We mentioned earlier that the Drive was a watch with a simple concept,but complex to design given the multitude of curves that define its case,including its domed sapphire crystal.

　　The Extraflat has managed to transform all these curves,reducing them to their bare essentials while preserving the watch’s identity.

　　This slimming exercise also extends to the dial,which omits the seconds hand in favor of a more minimalist look:.

　　Even the traditional guillochépattern has been replaced for this occasion with a more discreet sunburst finish.

　　The exclusivity of the Driver Extraflat is evident in its pricing.

　　It will not be available in steel,only in rose gold and a limited edition of 200 pieces in white gold worldwide.
